Busy Summer comes to an end!

I have to be honest I am not one that truly love the summer.

Its just plain to HOT! But this summer was awesome and extremely busy, not to mention we got some exciting news! This little baby #3 comes in March :)

We also had 2 missionaries in our family come home and 2 weddings!! Like a said, it was a busy fun filled and exciting summer!

The major highlight was for sure our 4 trips to California with family and friends! The weather is always a balmy 75-80....just perfect!

We even took the kids to Sea World for the first time (which they loved). I asked which they liked better, Disneyland or Sea World and without hesitation they still answered DISNEYLAND!

In June, Poor Ava had an allergic reaction to a bug bite on her forehead! No one recognized her, its a sad pic but she likes to look at it and laugh now! Of course this happened right before an anticipated trip with some friends....we almost dared not leave her because it was so swollen! We didn't know if it would spread to her lungs, etc. But by day 3 and lots of benadryl she was back to normal! (the trip was one of our funnest yet by the way- glad we went!)

Also in June, little Mia found her new found love of makeup! In case you are wondering what that is....Bobby Brown CREAMY eyeshadow...ya it was a PAIN to get off!

This July, we headed to Boise to celebrate the life of Bill's grandma. She passed away peacefully but we all miss her in our own lives. She was an amazing and generous women and I feel blessed to have known her. Little Mia was named in honor of her!

Also in July, the annual 4th fireworks and neighborhood parade in Eagle wood

It took Mia a few minutes to figure out the fireworks weren't going to hurt her, but after that she loved them!

And of course what is a summer without boating with my family!?

Summer couldn't have kicked off better than with the U2 Concert in May with our family!!

Fall is the best time of year and we can't wait to see whats in store!

Happy Easter!

After being gone for almost the entire month of April, we made it home in time for 2 egg hunts and wonderful family parties!

Also, Congrats to Colby and Hailie on getting engaged!! They are excited to tie the knot in September

Easter Brunch Celebration at Foxes

Don't mind little Mia pouting in the right hand corner....its a regular event!

Our 10 days prior to the Easter festivites, we were lucky to be in Laguna Beach!!! It wasn't quite the same because Bill couldn't come, but it was nice to not be at home alone while he was working

As you know, its our favorite home away from home!
The 4 Fox girl cousins had so much fun together everyday....swimming, sand, treats, and giggles!

We went to our first Angels baseball game!

Why is it at a baseball game you eat things you'd never think would be tasty?? Spoonfuls of rubber nacho cheese, chili dogs, cracker jack, and endless handful after handful of peanuts!!

SO fun!

An afternoon of fishing and cruising on a boat was another highlight! Wish I could say I had caught something, but only empty hooks surfaced everytime. It was fun to see what everyone else caught....even a few bat rays by mistake!

Cousin Kate and Mia are 2 little peas in a pod. They have such similar personalities and interests, its cute that Mia always wanted to be by her Kate

My sis Cara was quite the fisher lady....Grandpa Noli would be proud!

Disneyland was of course a must with the new obsession of RAPUNZEL & FLYNN RIDER!!!

Don't worry it was only a 90 minute wait......crazy! (the things you do for your kids)

We were lucky to get same day reservations for Ariel's Grotto! On a crowded day, its the best way to see 5 princess without waiting in line. You have to pay for lunch, but each princess comes to your table for an autograph and personal photo!

And by the way the food is delicious! This was Mia's favorite warm star bread, between she and I, we ate the whole thing :)

Last time we were at Disneyland Mia was still to little to appreciate the charm of princess visits, but this time....she couldn't sit still and loved every mintute.

After a full day and night at the Happiest Place on Earth its nice to come back and just relax. The best time of day was when Lottie and Mia crashed on the beach! Mia would sleep peacefully for hours

BEFORE our trip to Laguna, we spent almost 2 weeks with daddy in New Orleans again! (we did a year or so ago too)

We found these delicious "Snoballs" you think they are like snowcones here, but 10x better!

Trolley rides just like Tiana from "Princess and the Frog"!

Even though I wouldn't call New Orleans a "must" for traveling....they have some incredible things for kids to do.

Along with the zoo and the aquarium they have an awesome Children's Museum downtown

Pretend grocery store and restaurant was the favorite choice to spend their time!

The girls and I spent many hours at the great malls too while dad was working, I think they rode every mall ride in site....sure! why not?

We were sad to leave Dad there while he had to stay a few more weeks, but we are so grateful for his hard work and love our little family!

We travel a lot and its fun to see where we will go next!

SO I have sort of this LOVE/ HATE relationship with my computer. I love it for all the obvious reasons of modern society, but I hate it because once I make the decision to sit down in my office its always an average of an hour or more before I stand up! You know the drill.....respond to a quick email, check the daily deal, track an online purchase, and that doesn't even include opening any blogs. That is at minimum of another 30 minutes to an hour! So in short I have avoided blogging all together.... until today! I have a sweet conversation with my grandma today whom i don't get to see very often. We talked about my girls and how big they are getting and the funny things they do. She asked about my blog (which I had forgotten about) and so I decided to rededicate to updating! There's been a lot of great events since October 2010. I wont try to catch up for it all, but last week was a HUGE deal around our house because Ava had her 4th birthday!! Darling Rapunzel paraphernalia was everywhere!

Little Miss Lottie of course found the desserts to be her favorite part! This girl is hilarious and LOVES (to say the least) food :)

Earlier this month we took a road trip to Vegas....yes, Bill, myself and the girls!

Dad had some clients to entertain so we found ourselves soaking up the sun and relaxing

Our hotel had this giant shark tank with a glass water slide through it, Bill moved to fast for me to catch the picture....it was so cool!

This place was Ava and Mia's favorite part of the trip, what kid doesn't like 4 floors of chocolate candy everywhere?!

Mia was quite busy every morning and evening on the hotel phone, thank heaven for Clorox wipes!

Before the adventure to sin city, there was a very special munchkin who turned 2!

had a Toy Story 3 (or " Toy for fee" as Mia says) party at Jungle Jim's.

She is in love with Jessie, Woody and Buzz!

I must say I was quite impressed with Jungle Jim's...the pizza was a disappointment (no shock). but this place was a HIT with the kiddos. The last time I was here was when my own little brother turned 5!

Lastly, we started off the year with a great tan we picked up in Hawaii this January!

I seriously love traveling with my family and we have so much fun.

We couldn't keep Mia out of the ocean, it was her heaven to play around and splash all day

Snorkeling was fantastic, and it was whale season so we saw whales jumping all day along the coast! It was amazing, plently of sea turtles and the infamous eels, which Ava quickly began to dislike!

My little brothers aren't so little any more!

Ava started soccer this fall and not only does she love it, but she is HILARIOUS to watch as ALL 3 year olds are! She thinks her "costume" (or uniform as most call it) is pretty cool and asks to go to practice and put on her shin guards and cleats everyday!

She has fun, and we giggle watching her go in and out of paying attention....notice the cartwheel, slightly distracted?? We love it, GO SILVER SHARKS! She is #2

The best part is whenever we yell to kick the ball or to run fast, she looks our way and gives us a 2 thumbs up with a big cheeser! What? Who taught her that?

So long....until next year!

To say my kids and I LOVE snow cones would be an understatement! We really really enjoy that sugar and ice water! Seriously almost daily in the summer.... here we are enjoying our last one of the season. Luckily we have Slurpee's to hold us over and soften the blow of those adorable white shacks driving away for the winter!

(If possible I like to remove Mia's clothing to spare the blue & red stains....Ava wanted to join her this time in nude enjoyment)

My posts are LONG overdue, but we have been enjoying our family too much to take the time to document it all!

Another incredible July week in McCall Idaho with the Foxes.... I mean who couldn't enjoy this view from your bedroom window?? Thank you Gammy and all the Schlofmans, we love you!

Fun on the beach and on the boat, spending time with cousins and recreating in the great outdoors!

August was beach month for my kids and they have never had so much fun, after the week in McCall, 2 days later we packed up for the rest of the summer to spend in Cali! It was great to see Mia finally come around and LOVE the sand. Mia loved the ocean too we couldn't keep her out of it, which Ava always has been leery of until this summer.... good times!

I am completely convinced the the beach is the best playground for kids. Their imagination runs wild with sea shells castles, rivers, mermaids...running up and down the coast, in and out of the water. Nothing but a bucket, a shovel, and the warm sun soaking up vitamin D. Whale and dolphin watching, and even searching for Pirate Treasures rumored by little pirate leprechauns at the airport!! (wink wink)

Some my most cherished personal family memories are on the beach and I hope the same for my kids! Thanks to my incredible, generous family that we LOVE SO MUCH!

What a Joy...

My little girls are so much fun, some days are better than others... but for the most part we fly by the seat of our pants! Ava's imagination is exploding and we have journeys to the Crystal Castle (thanks Dora), find treasures, make dinners, paddle downstream in a boat, hunt for lost eggs, or make sparkling princess dresses.

She also has this imaginary friend "Deech-eye-O" (if thats even how you would spell it?!) According to Ava she has purple hair, lives at Home Depot, is 6 1/2 years old and only likes to wear princess dresses. Maybe if you come over you will be one of the lucky few to meet her!

Our Little Mia Tia is also blooming in her own little way! She copies EVERYTHING that Ava and I do. She even sings in the car like Ava! Below she think she is typing at the computer just like mommy on the ihome, very busy doing emails! She loves her mommy and would be so content just being held all day long with a few snuggles on the couch in between. She thinks she can swim all by herself and walks off the steps with no fear. I love hearing her say " thank you" which sounds just like "Dane Dew"...binki is "Din Dee"... this age is fun.

I turned 30 this year! wHaT?! its awesome....we had a great night with dinner at Canella's and Gateway fountains with those fatty cookies, ice cream at Juicy Berry, and snowcones! (seriously...it was yummy)

Ava was nervous that Mia was going to get splattered by the jets. Mia had no clue what could have happened!

Yes there is still a lot of trouble....but how can you get mad and not laugh at this??

Loving Summertime

Honestly most years part of me dreads the summer. Not because I don't love longer days or cooler summer nights on the grass, or swimming and playing out doors but because I DETEST the heat. NOT THIS YEAR, we did it right by kicking it off with a trip to Playa del Carmen at the end of May. Its a darling beach town on the Caribbean coastline in Mexico! It was hilarious every single day.

I'm not sure even to explain how much fun we had so I won't even try.....

We are just grateful to our dear friends and look forward to our next adventure 2011!

Sanity...

So this past month, Bill has been out of town for 3 weeks. This was the first time that I did not go with him on these long work trips or at least break it up with a visit to the location he was at.

I have to admit that I did really, really well the first 2 weeks! He left straight from Laguna to Mississippi and then went from there to Sacramento. Day 1-13 I was feeling in total control and was surprised with my patience and ability to manage both kids, my small businesses and still have time to play a little (thanks to my mom of course). However, after church that last Sunday I slowly began to lose it. I kept calling my kids by the wrong names and was so impatient with their cute little short legs going up the stairs, or the time it took to brush teeth, even with how long it took for Mia to drink her bottle!

I knew my wires were shorting out and I had exhausted every ounce of patience I had in me. Day 14-19 were slow and steady and extremely, desperately, prayful; they were all a big blur to be honest. I remember at night on day 18 I couldn't function any more. I gave up.

I called my sweet hard working hubby, sobbing, and told him I was desperate for him to come home. We booked a flight at midnight and I saw him day 19 about 4:30 pm. I didn't ....dare say, coudn't make it to day 21!

I am not sure my exact purpose in this post... definately is not to have a pity party but to simply acknowledge how much I love Bill. Definately empathy for single parents or those with spouses in the army, etc. When it boils down to it- I hope that all you wives love your husbands and never take for granted the role they have in your family life.

The balance they bring, sharing the household work load even if they are at work all day, bringing peace to your home & mind just with their presense. Making and giving confidence to the spirit of your kids. Bringing the perfect balance of love and attention even with exposure to individual weaknesses.

You all know by now, I NEVER do cheesy posts like this, I try not to get too personal...but just giving you all a little reminder to let your spouse know how much you appreciate their partnership, and the everyday hugs and kisses that we so routinely give.

Imagine they left you for 3 weeks.....well, 19 days...

Easter Week in Laguna Beach!

We were so excited as usual and headed to our favorite vacation spot in the world! Warm, sunny beach....R&R, and the best family!

I didn't feel the earthquake, the sand must have absorbed the shock waves or something but my uncle who was sitting on the stone wall felt it!

All the girls loved the pool this time (more than usual)! Little Mia just watched and splashed...too hesitant to get all the way in!

Long naps on the beach are a must but poor Ava was never left alone in peace as long as Mia was up to study her face and point out her eyes and nose, etc.

Pay back time Ava!!

Between the beach and the Princesses its a toss-up as to what the girls love the most!

Disneyland was again of course nothing but MAGICAL!

Ava got lucky because her 3 most favorite princesses were there to visit her that day!

Princess Tiana (from new Princess & the Frog) is by far her most favorite princess of all time right now!

While enjoying our favorite treat of "beignets" in Downtown Disney, Mia walked around with her beloved red Mickey suckers.....she had like 4 that day!

Easter Sunday was so beautiful and relaxing. A great conference weekend and so much fun together. Little...actually Giant Lottie Lou Jiggles looks so cute!
Our amazing aunt Susan had the girls find their Easter baskets by following these little colored chicks, each girl and Joey had their own color. It was darling!

They were all so excited and loved the toys and treats of course

My dad did a really cute scavenger hunt with clues to follow instead of a seperate egg hunt while we had a yummy brunch picnic right on the beach!

JACKPOT! They found all the eggs and had so much fun!

Thanks to our genreous and loving family that we admire so much. Every day if so fun when we are together!

Ava Fox had her 3 year old Princess Birthday Party! This little thing has been asking about her birthday everyday since Christmas... this picture explains exactly how she felt that day: sassy, special, beautiful, and just like a princess!

My sister Cara was sweet enough to be in charge of the make-over station where all the princesses had sparkles, nail-polish, blush, wands, purses, etc, and all the fancy things a pricess loves

Half way through Ava had a wardrobe change into Jasmine due to a little chocolate on her Tiana dress....luckily no tears, just very concerned that I would be able to clean the dress ASAP!

Good old pull a part cupcake princess cake! The boys dressed up like knights and princes and didnt even skip a beat with all the make-up and sparkles around them

Ava was thrilled opening all her princess gifts. So spoiled by friends and family, Thank you!

We celebrated Mia's 1st birthday with a big bash for family and friends, BUT of course she was teething that weekend and was so GRUMPY! She still is such a doll and growing so fast. She is tiny and only in the 7% for weight! Its so cute to see this little midget walking around trying to keep up with her sister!

Ok and still a month later and Ava hasn't come down off her Disneyland Princess high! Here she is in action on that blessed day! Isnt that hair quite a site!?

After such a long absent in the blogging world where do I begin.....

For starters, daily, these 2 girls are a barrel full of giggles. While finishing the home remodel.....Dress ups, pretend make-up, puzzles, princess movies, microphones, singing, bubble baths, nail polish, and magic crystels keep my day full of imagination and energy. For Bill and I thinking we were going to have 5 boys....these 2 girls sure are fun!

Rewinding back a few months......

The first of November Bill headed to good old New Orleans for 6 weeks. The 2 girls and I jumped on a 3.5 hour plane ride and got there just in time for his birthday! Ava was so proud of our homemade sign, since I dont usual pack tape in my tolietry bag- we layed it out perfectly for him on the floor when he got back to the hotel. (this only was accomplished after Mia went to sleep!)

Our 10 day trip was VERY LONG to say the least, it was hard because we only saw daddy for about 3 hours a day!!

I learned to fall in love with beignets and hot chocolate however when Bill was gone....I highly recommend them to anyone that wants a warm, delicious, French Quarter treat! If you are trying to diet then stay away from the addicting, deep fried puppies!

Ava loved the bright Mardi Gras beads in every store and we did get a few weird looks from folks because she wore them everywhere. We discovered that New Orleans does have an AMAZING aquarium or "A-CLAR-IUM" as Ava calls it and an incredible zoo! We'd go back just to visit those places again.

A quick trip home for Thanksgiving and then back to New Orleans. Bill got back just in time to enjoy all the parties and festivities before the week of Christmas! Parties with friends, playdates, temple square lights, and TONS of singing Christmas songs in the car made the holidays fly by in a delightful whirl!

Fox girls at the live nativty in the Harvard Yale area, it was so neat and touching! I found my eyes watering at the humble scene.

We loved Christmas and especially enjoyed all the family gatherings and generosity of our parents, grandparents, family and friends. Kids make everything so fun and Christmas was no exception. Its no wonder its my favorite time of the year- there is a thrill in the air that I love and I feel so grateful for Christ.

The day after Christmas we were on our way down to Laguna Beach!!!

It couldnt have been more perfect.....warm and sunny all but one day. Mia stayed on the blanket when we were at the beach, the sand totally bothered her little toes! She did NOT like it to say the least. As usual, Ava was in heaven.... little did she know it was only to get better with the most magical trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

DISNEYLAND was truly magical!!!!! One might think that an almost 3 year old is too young for this adventure but I couldn't disagree more. Sure, she didnt take advantage of all the park had to offer but if you could have seen her face light up at the first sight of that beautiful princess castle.....completely worth it! She wont love princesses forever and they grow up so fast, she was thrilled!

This little lady was priveledged to experince the darling "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique" and was completely pampered from hair-do, nails, sparkles, jewels, and outfits. NO words could decribe how happy and special she felt that whole day!

To top it off we had lunch with her favorite princesses at Ariel's Grotto (a total must for girls), saw all her pals from Little Einsteins at the Playhouse Disney show and fell asleep after a giant lolipop! We did find it ironic that Ava chose Tiana from the new Princess and the Frog movie to be. She must have really let our trip to New Orleans soak to her bones!

There were literally hundreds of photos that I could have posted, we are so blessed and love our family! Although I just about loose my mind when Bill is out of town, we enjoy it that much more when he is home.

Halloween week started off with our dear "Precious'" birthday! We had a little lunch and spent the afternoon with her and then had a surprise dinner planned that night! We sure love you and all you do for us. xoxo.

Ava was such a good helper mowing the lawn this week at our new house!

(We've been here almost 2 months now)
Bill adores his little girls and they are growing up so fast.

Now she has started dance and is becoming so sassy, she loves anything princess and says things like " lock you in the tower FOREVER!" what?! where did she learn that? She puts on her high heels, braclets, and purse and twirls around saying "I'm a LADY!" If you've seen Madagascar 2, that phrase is even funnier!

When she's crying because she's in trouble or doesn't get what she wants its: "mom, dhat make me sad when you talk yike dhat.... PLEASE make me happy an yet me watch a show!"

She puts on her Snow White costume (50% off at Babys R Us by the way), makes me sing "Beauty and Beast" and BEGS Bill and I to dance with her around the room. Of course we only hold ONE hand because the other is holding her dress just like Belle....DUH, mom!

Summer is over already and we've been so busy, we hardly noticed! Mia has been busy eating her solids and Ava running outside on the last warm days of the season

Our skippy little Ava is TOTALLY into music in the car right now!

Whats on her face you ask?

Well, our ritual when we get in the car is put on some lip gloss and turn up the ipod.... (my lip gloss is in a better concentrated area than hers)

No matter how loud it is she always yells- "louder please!" so I've learned to start with the volume way down You might get a kick out of our play list of the month:

#1 choice: "Single Ladies"- Beyonce.

The dance moves she shakes to this are darling!

#2: "All the Above" Maino (thanks to uncle Joe)

#3: "Something There" - Beauty and the Beast

#4 "Hey You"- 311

#5 "3 Little Birds"- Bob Marley

and all night tonight after slurpees was "Sexy Back"- good old Justin Timberlake (WHAT?!?!... thats the Bill in her)

We mix it up with some Primary tunes which she LOVES as well, her all time favorite of the LDS classics: "I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints" sung at the top of her lungs just belting out every word!

Meanwhile...Mia Buns can now sit by herself! She'll be 6 months next week

I love this age so much and she is getting to be so fun to play with! It only gets better from here

Ava is a good sister and loves to make her laugh any time she gets the chance.

This summer has flown by and our little Mia is getting so big. She's 5 months and ready for the big life changes of sitting up and eating solids.

We've been traveling all over and enjoying the warm weather with swim lessons and daily snowcones!

The most exciting thing thats happend this summer is by far our new neice Lottie Ann- Congrats T&C on the newest cutest little muffin (who by the way weighs only 5 lbs. 12 oz. and can pound 6 oz. of milk in an hour!)

Our summer started out with an amazing trip to Costa Rica

Boat rides, snorkeling, surfing, jungle zip lines, eating.... you name it, we did it!

My brother Joe helped reel in this good looking Marlin

We also celebrated our 4th Anniversary there (I know, 2 kids already, we've been busy!)

Since swimming lessons this summer, Ava is a champ at going under water

Flying from Arenal to Tamarindo- GORGEOUS.

riding the famous zip lines over 600 feet high across the jungle, going at speeds up to 60 miles per hour! totally a life time experience (no babies on this one of course, thanks mom!)

Another major highlight was McCall Idaho, we just got back last night and had a blast at the annual Fox family reunion!

Again, we took advantage of all the amazing lake has to offer from water skiing and sailing to swimming and sandcastles...

This year was a little more "noisy" with 5 new baby cousins all born between Feb. and April

Mia got some quality time with "Precious & GrandBob" and was a little sweet heart...while Ava was a busy body! Thinking she was so cool because she got to drive the jet ski all by her self

We love our Gammy so much and are so grateful for her generosity and all the quality family time!

Since the weather has been warm and we've been outside almost all day every day riding her scooter and tricycle....

Lets just say its been a CRAZY month and a half! We sold our house (total surprise) staying with my parents while we find a house.... not one, but TWO houses we offered on that I thought we could soon call home fell through, a few weeks of sickness in between, and a darling newborn that crys A LOT has left me absent in the blogging world for many weeks.

Luckily we spent a relaxing week in Laguna Beach over Easter to break up the chaos in our lives!

In case you're wondering why we have no pics of Ava and her new little sis.... the day before Mia came Ava got a fever of 102, runny nose, and a narley deep cough!! Great timing right? She's only been sick once really her whole life.

Needless to say we are keeping them FAR apart!

Nolasco "Noli" G. Baldazo Ogden, Utah Nolasco "Noli" Gonzales Baldazo passed away, surrounded by his family, February 5, 2009.

He was born January 28, 1932 in St. Rosa, Philippines to Jose Baldazo and Maria Gonzales Baldazo. Noli was raised in the Philippines with humble beginnings. As a child he was able to aid the U.S. soldiers, during World War II, by providing water and passing messages. Noli was a pilot in the Philippine Air Force.

Noli received a B.A. in mathematics from San Pablo College in the Philippines. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Biometeorology from Utah State University. Noli taught mathematics and physical sciences for over 30 years in the Philippines and Salt Lake until retiring in 1996. While teaching mathematics at the University of the Philippines, Noli met the love of his life, Milagros "Mila" Belarmino. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 1, 2008. The marriage was blessed with four children, Gemini, Sagitta, Joe and Don. The Baldazo family came to America in 1968 in order for Noli to further pursue his education. Through hard work and sacrifice Noli and Mila were able to live the American dream.

Noli was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Governor's Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Asian Community. Noli was also the first president of the Filipino American Association of Utah and was a member of the governing board of the Asian Association of Utah. Noli was an avid gardener. His garden provided a bountiful harvest to family and friends. He also loved to fish year round. Noli and Mila enjoyed traveling and cruises. They visited many places, including the Philippines, Russia, Hong Kong and the Panama Canal. Noli's family was his pride and greatest accomplishment.

He wrote "My favorite pastime is caring for my grandchildren and taking them fishing whenever possible." Noli is survived by his wife, Milagros; daughters Gemini (Robert) Bourne and Sagitta (Phil) Boyer both of Salt Lake City and son Don (Suzette) Baldazo of Eagle, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; Tanna (Bill), Cara (Tom), Colby, Tanner, Joey, Matt, Sam, Ben, Tori, Sierra, Jade, and Sara; two great-granddaughters, Kate and Ava, and two on the way. Noli is also survived by two brothers, five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe, December 1, 1980. Grandpa,

We love and miss you! We hope the fish are biting. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, on Friday, Feb.13th from 6 to 7:30 p.m.; where a rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. A viewing will also be held Saturday at the mortuary from 12-1 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Yesterday was our Dear Grandpa Noli's 77th birthday and we are so blessed to have spent the afternoon at a long yummy lunch with him!

He really enjoyed the chococlate cake (which he NEVER does)...

He LOVES (to say the least)to look at the family blogs and see pics of his great-grandkids and was excited for after lunch because we were going to come to my house to post his birthday pics on my blog.

Today was so mellow after an incredibly fun few days of parties- sledding was a little cold for Ava, but good to be outside Despite the snow warnings... we are so glad grandma and grandpa made it to our Christmas feast! This last summer Ava fell in love with snowcones (because of her mothers addiction) so this morning when we woke up and I told her there was snow outside, she ran to the door and yelled "snowcone!" Yes, its a giant one!

Last night Bill and I got in a little "heated debate" about daylight savings and changing the clock... the time we slept in...and blah, blah, blah.

Well little miss Ava was listening and then spent her fair share of time telling us about the clock and going to sleep!

It was so funny for us!

The best part is when she see's that I'm filming with the camera and says "CHEESE" thinking I'm taking a picture!

It was pretty fun to watch Ava trick-or-treat for the first time this year!

As you can see she wasn't afraid at all to ask for the candy.....She caught on to routine of it pretty quick

She also opened lots of candy along the way, we missed a few houses while she sat in the wagon too busy munching on sweets!

After a 2.5 hour flight to Texas and a 5 hour drive... we finally arrived in El Dorado (pronounced like "tornado") Arkansas!

We have to say it is gorgeous with all the trees, birds, and deer everywhere.
There isn't much here really , but "when in ROME....."so we asked around for the best place to get FRIED CHICKEN and the word on the street is:

Chick-a-Dilly

Lets just say it was an authentic cultural experience! There was a bakery across the street so I thought since lunch was pretty average, a yummy cookie or eclair would help end on a sweeter note. Well, to my surprise......here were the bakery racks!

Half empty shelves of packaged donuts and honey rolls, again, like I said...not much here.

While traveling with Bill I like to shop around the towns, but here I am limited to:

Group garage sales off the road....

The local dollar store....

...and of course the infamous WalMart! I think its the highlight of the town because they even named a street after the store!

All the homes have a typical country feel to them. Most of them actually have a couple Lazy Boy recliners and a a BBQ on the porch :)

But its interesting that the nicest building around is the HUGE Baptist church.

Overall the people are friendly and this is a new adventure for our family!

Today as I went to get Ava dressed, she threw a fit when I took off her elephant PJ's!!

She kept saying..."ewphant again, ewphant again" and was putting her PJ shirt back on over her head!!

No mother lets her kids wear their PJ's as a shirt, but the screaming and crying got to me and i figure who cares! You can see who got her way today....
.... I have a feeling this is the beginning of a new phase!

Cara had this idea about a year and a half ago to start a line of baby shoes, the original one was so cute (as you can see) that it was a no brainer to go forward together with her and our sister-in law. 2 weeks in OC Laguna

Nothing better than the beach! We spent a gorgeous couple weeks relaxing and soaking up the California sun

My 2 brothers were like beached whales after playing in the ocean all day everyday with the Sam

Who doesn't LOVE fireworks?!? Ava was totally captivated by them and wanted more! We started early with the annual Eaglewood fireworks & BBQ on the 3rd at the Foxes.....

"BOOM BOOM" Ava would repeat over and over and over!

...Then on the 4th we headed up to Park city for outlet shopping and dinner

Ava sure loved her spaghetti

As if that wasn't enough, she slurped up some icecream too

We didn't stay up in PC for the fireworks there, we have our own little white trash tradition in our neighborhood- about $300 worth....

I've been trying better to live GREEN lately and am loving the alternatives....This one fact struck me as interesting and couldn't resist sharing it hoping you'll be inspired too!

30 Billion plastic bags end up as litter - making their way into our oceans killing birds, mammals, and sea creatures by the millions each year because they aren't biodegradable. So then choose paper?!?!
BUT...(here's the point)...paper bags may be worse. Just one paper bag takes more energy to make, therefore emitting extra pollution into our ozone and creating more waste than 2 plastic bags!

The SOLUTION= BYOB. No, I know what some of you from the college days may thinking this stands for...but its Bring Your Own Bag!

But, one of my favorite exhibits was this unique, artsy, natural crafted jewelry at the museum shop. The artist is Molly McGrath...gorgeous.

After playing with the pigeons she learned the word "bird" and now will spot them out everytime she sees one

One day I want a greenhouse 1/10 of what this is, its so refreshing to see beautiful flowers

Mothers Day weekend in San Fran!

We spent a great couple of days roaming the piers and hills in Northern California

It was a little chilly at 63 with the wind, but that didn't stop us or the thousands of other people there

Mothers Day was a treat because Saturday I splurged on this fabulous precious stone jewelry that is gorgeous and extremely inexpensive! Bill knows its a weakness of mine and I can't help but load up every time we come here-
Delicious and beautiful fruit... but at $9 a lb. you HAD to enjoy it or else

If we look a few pounds heavier its because all we did was EAT! From fish and chips, clam chowder, french crepes, fruit, hot chocolate & cider, cookies and bagels to just name a few :) It was so much fun!
Of course the highlight for Ava was watching the sea lions just sun-bathing and barking on the docks

We've migrated south to Fresno

Yup- We jumped in the car for a couple of hours and drove to Fresno where Bill is starting another job.

Can you tell Ava was a little lethargic at dinner from the car ride?

Well, the tiredness didn't last long- We were enjoying our delicious PF Changs....

When slowly crept up a team of armed officers and stationed themselves at all 4 corners of the restuarant! With their hands placed on their fully loaded weapons we got a little nervous,
Fortunately, or unfortunately the story doesn't get any more dramtic than that because we left quickly there after. But the entire restaurant was anxious wondering who was inside and if he/she was coming out. I coudn't help but think of Trolley Square!
Fresno's crime rate is the lowest its been in 4 decades, but you never know about these crazy Californian gangsters!

Ava managed to muster up some more energy from all the excitment and channeled it toward some serious shopping as she busily flipped through clothes on the rack

She must have seen me do that a few hundred times- Bill and I laughed so hard!

After the run on Saturday, Ava and I hopped a plane to California (again) to come see Bill. We'll be staying up in Brookside where we come a couple times a year.

Its a good thing the seat next to me was empty because Ava is now a CLIMBER! She climbs up everything from slides, strollers, her pack n' play, coffee tables, and anything low enough to get her first foot up

She got on the table by using the couch!
We decided to join the majority population here and celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Mexicans sure know how to throw a party!

Chasing Cookies

Yesterday morning we tied our running shoes tight, filled our water bottles full, and had our sights set on 2 fast little cookies This little race was a fund raiser for the Girl Scouts (hence the cookies) and it was a blast. And we really did chase Mr. Thin Mint and Mrs. Do-Si-Do!
Those are the 2 FAST cookies above.... we wish they would have run in their costumes!

One of the things on my "Prevent-boredom To Do List" here in Elko was to make Ava her own little doggie bed.....Ok let me explain:

She LOVES Maverick's bed and always wants to read her books on it, eat her snacks on it, and even nap on it! I can't handle any more dog hair,

So I went to Costco to find another one just for Ava, but since none were to be found I just made her own

She LOVES this one too, but absolutely No sharing this one with Mav-Dog!

Last Saturday night we celebrated my darling grandparents 50th wedding Anniversary!

In case you're wondering what Bill and I are wearing, those are a traditional Filipino dress and barong.... pretty snazzy!

Ava and mommy took a girls trip to Orange County with my parents for Spring Break last weekend

We spent quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Bourne shopping, eating treats and hanging at the beach

We missed daddy though...he was working of course
Uncle Joe carried her everywhere
And Uncle Matt kept her entertained
And Ava could not get enough of the beach, it was impossible to get her to look up for a photo

We celebrated her 1st birthday on March 21st!!

(check out those Birthday glasses that she insisted on wearing)

We made it home just in time for Easter Sunday

The Fox cousins looked darling in their Easter clothes

Ava loved the egg hunt, except everytime she found an egg she cracked it open to eat the candy right away...needless to say, her basket stayed empty :) But really can you blame her, Easter by far has the best candy of any holiday

Ava had a St. Patrick's Day Birthday yesterday!

Since we will be in Laguna Beach for her birthday we decided to have her 1st birthday party before with all her friends and family

She was a little leary about the green frosting but soon found it tasted pretty sweet

Mom and Dad had fun....seriously these parties are for the parents because come on'.... like she'll remember a thing!

Elmo was a big hit and his chocolate face was quickly devoured

The kids went fishing and played a bean bag toss...Ava got lots of presents (more than a 1 year old needs) and we filled our tummies with pizza

Tree Huggers

We found ourselved totally captivated and in awe at the Redwood Forest north of San Francisco this weekend. One of the most beautiful places we've ever seen....

These Redwood Trees can grow up to 379 ft. and can be over 2,000 years old. They are the tallest living things found on the planet

You can barely see the top of the trees, my camera was literally pointing toward the sky to get the top picture

One day we want to make it up to Kings Canyon to see the Sequoias that are so large you can drive your car through one of them

Look how tiny the people are to the right (and again thats only a third of the tree you see)!

BREATHTAKING, we could have stayed there all day!

San Francisco Zoo Day

It was a warm sunny day perfect for the zoo!
Ava loved watching the turtles swim, they were actually fast little movers
However, you can tell she's a little nervous about riding one! (don't worry its fake)A new baby girafee was born on Feb 25th.....he was sooooo darling!

We even got to hold some of the animals!!!!

Despite all the "Shhh" signs posted everywhere, Ava still felt the need to squeal her extremely high ear piercing scream at every animal.

The gorillas were so confused by the high pitched noise that they all went for the nearest exit!

The flamingos didn't mind the noise....probably because they went deaf after the first oneNeedless to say she loved every minute

We even had time to stop by Ocean Beach to dip our toes in the water and watch the body surfers.
Let's do it again tomorrow!

Filipino Family in Cali

That cute little Filipina sitting down is my Grandpa Baldazo's sister who is 85 years old, to her left is my grandpa's baby brother! Everybody else is a cousin to my mom...who all came to the USA from the Philippines over 30 years ago. Ava and I had a nice time visiting my second cousins who all live in the Bay Area

Here we are in Concord California just enjoying some Pirate's Booty cheese puffs, Jamba Juice and a very sunny 68 degrees! Ava just got her first pair of Teva flip flops today and can't figure out why she has to have that fabric between her toes.... so funny!

She loved walking around the water fountain but was periodically distracted by these weird shoes....

She finally stopped trying to take them off and LOVED (to say the least) walking back and forth with the stroller. Still a little wobbily but just too cute for words!

We took a little trip down to see Daddy in action at work....what a handsome devil in that hard hat and stunning blue jumper!
The San Francisco Refinery is set in the bay right by the water

And even the drive getting there is so beautiful with rolling greens hills, we don't mind staying here for a couple weeks!

We spent a gorgeous 8 days in Acapulco Mexico soaking up the sun with some friends....

Ava and Lincoln were the only babies who got to come!

Christmas went by in a blur! It was so fun with all the cousins and family in town!
