Princess Heaven Halloween

Halloween week started off with our dear "Precious'" birthday! We had a little lunch and spent the afternoon with her and then had a surprise dinner planned that night! We sure love you and all you do for us. xoxo.

We think our kids are so cute!It was a fairy tale princess week with all the dressing up....Even cousin Ike was Prince Charming
Little Mia found herself in the middle of it all-

We saw Ava as "Belle"

"Snow White"

"Cinderella" with glass slippers and all!
(Ava must have dreamt about those puppies because one morning she woke up concerned of their whereabouts)

and...."Sleeping Judy" (as she calls her)
we all lived Happily Ever After!

Fall time fun

Ava was such a good helper mowing the lawn this week at our new house!
(We've been here almost 2 months now)
Bill adores his little girls and they are growing up so fast.
Now she has started dance and is becoming so sassy, she loves anything princess and says things like " lock you in the tower FOREVER!" what?! where did she learn that? She puts on her high heels, braclets, and purse and twirls around saying "I'm a LADY!" If you've seen Madagascar 2, that phrase is even funnier!

*****
When she's crying because she's in trouble or doesn't get what she wants its: "mom, dhat make me sad when you talk yike dhat.... PLEASE make me happy an yet me watch a show!"
(as she comes and grabs my cheeks and looks me straight in the eyes)

*****
She puts on her Snow White costume (50% off at Babys R Us by the way), makes me sing "Beauty and Beast" and BEGS Bill and I to dance with her around the room. Of course we only hold ONE hand because the other is holding her dress just like Belle....DUH, mom!

Dance class

is by far her most favorite time of the week!

Funny that she finds herself in front of the mirror doing her own dances more often than not!

Mia is still our "pissy peanut" but cute as a button!
This little face will melt your heart and that is why she gets held ALL DAY LONG!

Mia LOVED her first time on a swing!!! It was such a gorgeous day and these girls make it that much better.
BIG NEWS of the month.....
this little girl who is 7 months started the army crawl!

Bye Bye summer!

Summer is over already and we've been so busy, we hardly noticed! Mia has been busy eating her solids and Ava running outside on the last warm days of the season
I love this stage of baby!

U games are the perfect way to kick off fall, and as you know we are die-hard Ute fans!
Bill and Mia sitting with Alan and Ila at the Homecoming game

Utah fan sisters
(ok so this was the best pic of them, either not crying or blurry!
Mia looks like a deer in headlights)

We are ready for the predicted 55 degree rain and cold tomorrow... Bring on the snow!!!

"Louder Please!"

Our skippy little Ava is TOTALLY into music in the car right now!
Whats on her face you ask?
Well, our ritual when we get in the car is put on some lip gloss and turn up the ipod.... (my lip gloss is in a better concentrated area than hers)
No matter how loud it is she always yells- "louder please!" so I've learned to start with the volume way down You might get a kick out of our play list of the month:

#1 choice: "Single Ladies"- Beyonce.
The dance moves she shakes to this are darling!

#2: "All the Above" Maino (thanks to uncle Joe)
#3: "Something There" - Beauty and the Beast
#4 "Hey You"- 311
#5 "3 Little Birds"- Bob Marley
and all night tonight after slurpees was "Sexy Back"- good old Justin Timberlake (WHAT?!?!... thats the Bill in her)
We mix it up with some Primary tunes which she LOVES as well, her all time favorite of the LDS classics: "I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints" sung at the top of her lungs just belting out every word!
Meanwhile...Mia Buns can now sit by herself! She'll be 6 months next week
I love this age so much and she is getting to be so fun to play with! It only gets better from here
Ava is a good sister and loves to make her laugh any time she gets the chance.
We caught some of it on video one night
(sorry the clip is dark),
but just listen at the few cute giggles Ava gets out of Mia...

Av would have done this all night if we would have let her

Long over due for an update!

This summer has flown by and our little Mia is getting so big. She's 5 months and ready for the big life changes of sitting up and eating solids.
We've been traveling all over and enjoying the warm weather with swim lessons and daily snowcones!

The most exciting thing thats happend this summer is by far our new neice Lottie Ann- Congrats T&C on the newest cutest little muffin (who by the way weighs only 5 lbs. 12 oz. and can pound 6 oz. of milk in an hour!)

Our summer started out with an amazing trip to Costa Rica

Boat rides, snorkeling, surfing, jungle zip lines, eating.... you name it, we did it!

My brother Joe helped reel in this good looking Marlin

We also celebrated our 4th Anniversary there (I know, 2 kids already, we've been busy!)
Since swimming lessons this summer, Ava is a champ at going under water

Flying from Arenal to Tamarindo- GORGEOUS.
Swimming in the natural hot springs by the volcano

Hiking through the rain forest while crossing 6 suspended hanging bridges
more swimming in hot springs
riding the famous zip lines over 600 feet high across the jungle, going at speeds up to 60 miles per hour! totally a life time experience (no babies on this one of course, thanks mom!)
Arenal, the active volcano on Costa Rica

Another major highlight was McCall Idaho, we just got back last night and had a blast at the annual Fox family reunion!

Again, we took advantage of all the amazing lake has to offer from water skiing and sailing to swimming and sandcastles...
This year was a little more "noisy" with 5 new baby cousins all born between Feb. and April

Mia got some quality time with "Precious & GrandBob" and was a little sweet heart...while Ava was a busy body! Thinking she was so cool because she got to drive the jet ski all by her self
We love our Gammy so much and are so grateful for her generosity and all the quality family time!
All our love to all ya'll!

Exhausted...

We've all heard the phrase "work hard, play hard", well little miss pistol is all about just "Play hard, then play harder!"
Since the weather has been warm and we've been outside almost all day every day riding her scooter and tricycle....
One minute she's talking and singing, the next minute I find her asleep like this:

I miss those days when I could sleep like a log!

Tulip Festival

This was the perfect way to cure spring fever and dive into summer

The kids LOVED it! Why are they shirtless you ask?.... well,

they played in this for abount an hour!
Mia and her 2 BFF's Jane and Ila, all 3 girls were born 9 weeks apart from each other
A very special treat at the end when we got to say "hi" to the prophet!

Time for an update!

Lets just say its been a CRAZY month and a half! We sold our house (total surprise) staying with my parents while we find a house.... not one, but TWO houses we offered on that I thought we could soon call home fell through, a few weeks of sickness in between, and a darling newborn that crys A LOT has left me absent in the blogging world for many weeks.

Luckily we spent a relaxing week in Laguna Beach over Easter to break up the chaos in our lives!
Cousin Kate and Ava loved the beach and warm weather...
Ava got brave this year and let uncle Tono take her in the ocean!
Mia just slept on the beach all day and got lots of attention whenever her little eyes opened
Welcome Spring time!!

I'm 2!

Celebrated Ava's 2nd birthday with a mini bash at the park and her all time favorite cake.... Lightening McQueen!
Then another slice of cake from Yumma for breakfast....And then one more slice from "Precious" at the end of an awesome birthday weekend!

Mia was pleasantly dreaming through the whole thing :)
(thats a little birthmark on her eye and baby acne on her cheeks.... the pic look like she's got a black eye and some bruises)

Fox sisters

We could have never guessed Ava would be so cute and sweet with her little sister! She shares her toys, sippy cups, and her prize posession.... her BLANKIE!

Its so fun to see her be so gentle and kind. Lets just hope she keeps this up, I have a feeling it may change as they get older!

Every girls needs a sister...

Here's a shout out to my beautiful sister and all you sisters of sisters out there

"More than Santa Claus, your sister knows when you've been bad and good." ~Linda Sunshine

"Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Indulge in monumental sulks, in huffs, in snide remarks. Borrow. Break. Monopolize the bathroom. Are always underfoot. But if catastrophe should strike, sisters are there. Defending you against all comers." ~Pam Brown

In case you're wondering why we have no pics of Ava and her new little sis.... the day before Mia came Ava got a fever of 102, runny nose, and a narley deep cough!! Great timing right? She's only been sick once really her whole life.
Needless to say we are keeping them FAR apart!
More pics to come!

My inspiration, my heart....my grandpa

Nolasco "Noli" G. Baldazo Ogden, Utah Nolasco "Noli" Gonzales Baldazo passed away, surrounded by his family, February 5, 2009.

He was born January 28, 1932 in St. Rosa, Philippines to Jose Baldazo and Maria Gonzales Baldazo. Noli was raised in the Philippines with humble beginnings. As a child he was able to aid the U.S. soldiers, during World War II, by providing water and passing messages. Noli was a pilot in the Philippine Air Force.

Noli received a B.A. in mathematics from San Pablo College in the Philippines. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Biometeorology from Utah State University. Noli taught mathematics and physical sciences for over 30 years in the Philippines and Salt Lake until retiring in 1996. While teaching mathematics at the University of the Philippines, Noli met the love of his life, Milagros "Mila" Belarmino. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 1, 2008. The marriage was blessed with four children, Gemini, Sagitta, Joe and Don. The Baldazo family came to America in 1968 in order for Noli to further pursue his education. Through hard work and sacrifice Noli and Mila were able to live the American dream.

Noli was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Governor's Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Asian Community. Noli was also the first president of the Filipino American Association of Utah and was a member of the governing board of the Asian Association of Utah. Noli was an avid gardener. His garden provided a bountiful harvest to family and friends. He also loved to fish year round. Noli and Mila enjoyed traveling and cruises. They visited many places, including the Philippines, Russia, Hong Kong and the Panama Canal. Noli's family was his pride and greatest accomplishment.

He wrote "My favorite pastime is caring for my grandchildren and taking them fishing whenever possible." Noli is survived by his wife, Milagros; daughters Gemini (Robert) Bourne and Sagitta (Phil) Boyer both of Salt Lake City and son Don (Suzette) Baldazo of Eagle, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; Tanna (Bill), Cara (Tom), Colby, Tanner, Joey, Matt, Sam, Ben, Tori, Sierra, Jade, and Sara; two great-granddaughters, Kate and Ava, and two on the way. Noli is also survived by two brothers, five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe, December 1, 1980. Grandpa,

We love and miss you! We hope the fish are biting. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden. Pringles & Raisins

Yes- this sounds like the title of some wierd pregnancy craving of mine, BUT-
But its actually AVA'S!

Lately every single night she gets this craving and pulls me into the kitchen and tells me she's hungry for "green chips" and "treats" (that our way of making raisins sound fun and sugary)

Go figure.... and I thought my craving for Shrimp flavored chips was wierd...OK maybe it still is!

6 weeks and 5 days....but whose counting?

Seriously.............what I FEEL like every second of the day!
Poor Ava has no clue her world is about the rocked upside down next month.
However, her mother will be soooo happy to sleep on her stomach again!
(by the way, no that's not me in case you were wondering)

Proud to be a Ute!

We wish we could have been there last night to see the amazing victory! The Big Easy was a little to far away and a little dirty for a prego who gags at every curious smell.... but we love our Utah Utes and their perfect record this season!

Who has time to blog during Christmas?

A very Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
We're loving the snow and especially playing in it!
Today was so mellow after an incredibly fun few days of parties- sledding was a little cold for Ava, but good to be outside Despite the snow warnings... we are so glad grandma and grandpa made it to our Christmas feast! Ava and Kate were more excited about the chocolate than the dollar billsCheck out the cute PJ's Cara is wearing from my grandma- thanks Cynthia!
"More Presents?!"- Ava learned to love just ripping off the paper and not even really noticing what she was unwrapping
Foxes

Thanks to all our family and friends for making Christmas so wonderful this year.... Not to mention making me also about 4 pounds heavier this year too!!!

By the way, this went on for about 10 minutes straight :)

"Snow Cone!"

This last summer Ava fell in love with snowcones (because of her mothers addiction) so this morning when we woke up and I told her there was snow outside, she ran to the door and yelled "snowcone!" Yes, its a giant one!

First snowman of the year

Last year she was way too little to play in the snow and actually enjoy it.... this year will be a whole new story. It was a battle to bring her inside!

Bring on more snow!

Babblings of a 19 month old....

video

Last night Bill and I got in a little "heated debate" about daylight savings and changing the clock... the time we slept in...and blah, blah, blah.

Well little miss Ava was listening and then spent her fair share of time telling us about the clock and going to sleep!

It was so funny for us!

The best part is when she see's that I'm filming with the camera and says "CHEESE" thinking I'm taking a picture!

PS Bill ended up being right :)

"Trick-or-Treat"

It was pretty fun to watch Ava trick-or-treat for the first time this year!
As you can see she wasn't afraid at all to ask for the candy.....She caught on to routine of it pretty quick

She also opened lots of candy along the way, we missed a few houses while she sat in the wagon too busy munching on sweets!

Can't wait til next year :)

My aunt had a cute pumpkin treasure hunt, once Ava found hers....she never looked up again!

The adults had our annual Halloween party

Welcome to Arkansas

After a 2.5 hour flight to Texas and a 5 hour drive... we finally arrived in El Dorado (pronounced like "tornado") Arkansas!

We have to say it is gorgeous with all the trees, birds, and deer everywhere.
There isn't much here really , but "when in ROME....."so we asked around for the best place to get FRIED CHICKEN and the word on the street is:

Chick-a-Dilly

Lets just say it was an authentic cultural experience! There was a bakery across the street so I thought since lunch was pretty average, a yummy cookie or eclair would help end on a sweeter note. Well, to my surprise......here were the bakery racks!

Half empty shelves of packaged donuts and honey rolls, again, like I said...not much here.

While traveling with Bill I like to shop around the towns, but here I am limited to:

Group garage sales off the road....

The local dollar store....

...and of course the infamous WalMart! I think its the highlight of the town because they even named a street after the store!

All the homes have a typical country feel to them. Most of them actually have a couple Lazy Boy recliners and a a BBQ on the porch :)

But its interesting that the nicest building around is the HUGE Baptist church.

Overall the people are friendly and this is a new adventure for our family!

The beginning of the end

Today as I went to get Ava dressed, she threw a fit when I took off her elephant PJ's!!
She kept saying..."ewphant again, ewphant again" and was putting her PJ shirt back on over her head!!
No mother lets her kids wear their PJ's as a shirt, but the screaming and crying got to me and i figure who cares! You can see who got her way today....
.... I have a feeling this is the beginning of a new phase!

Drum Roll please.....

Yeah! Its almost weird because we've been working on these for such a long time, BUT:

I'd like to introduce you to the newest line of designer baby shoes!

Cara had this idea about a year and a half ago to start a line of baby shoes, the original one was so cute (as you can see) that it was a no brainer to go forward together with her and our sister-in law. Check out our website and if anyone wants a pair you can get them at Babinski's in Foothill or let me know! We have them in a few stores across the nation and plan to get them in more Utah stores soon!

Celebrating Freedom!

Who doesn't LOVE fireworks?!? Ava was totally captivated by them and wanted more! We started early with the annual Eaglewood fireworks & BBQ on the 3rd at the Foxes.....
"BOOM BOOM" Ava would repeat over and over and over!
Fox sisters and babies

...Then on the 4th we headed up to Park city for outlet shopping and dinner

Ava sure loved her spaghetti
As if that wasn't enough, she slurped up some icecream too

We didn't stay up in PC for the fireworks there, we have our own little white trash tradition in our neighborhood- about $300 worth....

The ladies sit back and laugh while the men act like little boys playing with fire
We got them to look up fast enough for just one pic

Ava did her first sparkler!

Glow in the dark accessories made it a perfect night

These ones were a little TOO LOUD for Miss Ava since they were practically right in her ear

We love the 4th of July and its one of our favorite holidays! I feel so blessed to live in this beautiful country and to have all the luxuries we do.
God Bless America!

It was a beautiful day and Ava loved it just kicking her legs around the whole time- we strapped her car seat down in the back seat of a Ranger and we were off!

This is the one and only lovable J Spafford AKA "Sunshine"
A yummy lunch along the way made it the perfect day...
We're excited to go again.....hopefully a little warmer!

Paper or Plastic?

I've been trying better to live GREEN lately and am loving the alternatives....This one fact struck me as interesting and couldn't resist sharing it hoping you'll be inspired too!
or

30 Billion plastic bags end up as litter - making their way into our oceans killing birds, mammals, and sea creatures by the millions each year because they aren't biodegradable. So then choose paper?!?!
BUT...(here's the point)...paper bags may be worse. Just one paper bag takes more energy to make, therefore emitting extra pollution into our ozone and creating more waste than 2 plastic bags!

The SOLUTION= BYOB. No, I know what some of you from the college days may thinking this stands for...but its Bring Your Own Bag!

Our own grocery stores and even Target sell their own version for about 1- 2$ which are great. I even found some at Ikea last year for $1.99 that were super cute. But if you wanted some more stylish options I found these at reusablebags.com and love them.

Only $7.95 and will ship in 24 hours so your green shopping can start tomorrow!

Discovering San Francisco with kids

Thanks to this fabulous article in 'Cookie' Magazine we found a new love for San Fran!

Waterfront Arts Festival at Pier 5Ava spent the majority of the time chasing the poor pigeons!

Yerba Buena Gardens
First time riding a carousel for Miss Ava!
This place was awesome and we could have spent days here,

Along with the Zuem Museum for
children (which we loved) they had:
Bigger than Life Playground
Beautiful cafes and places to just sit and enjoy the environment
Little water play pools to cool off

SFMoMA
I LOVED this Museum of Modern Art, I liked it even better than the MoMA in New York City
Sadly- No pictures allowed :(

But, one of my favorite exhibits was this unique, artsy, natural crafted jewelry at the museum shop. The artist is Molly McGrath...gorgeous.

Golden Gate Park
This place is HUGE and breathtaking at every corner. I could have posted a thousand pics!
Conservatory of Flowers Simply wonderful!

After playing with the pigeons she learned the word "bird" and now will spot them out everytime she sees one

One day I want a greenhouse 1/10 of what this is, its so refreshing to see beautiful flowers

Butterfly Garden
It was really neat to see cacoons turning to butterflys at everystage

Yet, So much more to see...

Mothers Day weekend in San Fran!

We spent a great couple of days roaming the piers and hills in Northern California

It was a little chilly at 63 with the wind, but that didn't stop us or the thousands of other people there

Mothers Day was a treat because Saturday I splurged on this fabulous precious stone jewelry that is gorgeous and extremely inexpensive! Bill knows its a weakness of mine and I can't help but load up every time we come here-
Delicious and beautiful fruit... but at $9 a lb. you HAD to enjoy it or else

If we look a few pounds heavier its because all we did was EAT! From fish and chips, clam chowder, french crepes, fruit, hot chocolate & cider, cookies and bagels to just name a few :) It was so much fun!
Of course the highlight for Ava was watching the sea lions just sun-bathing and barking on the docks

Happy Mothers Day to all you mommies out there!

We've migrated south to Fresno

Yup- We jumped in the car for a couple of hours and drove to Fresno where Bill is starting another job.
Can you tell Ava was a little lethargic at dinner from the car ride?

Well, the tiredness didn't last long- We were enjoying our delicious PF Changs....

When slowly crept up a team of armed officers and stationed themselves at all 4 corners of the restuarant! With their hands placed on their fully loaded weapons we got a little nervous,
Fortunately, or unfortunately the story doesn't get any more dramtic than that because we left quickly there after. But the entire restaurant was anxious wondering who was inside and if he/she was coming out. I coudn't help but think of Trolley Square!
Fresno's crime rate is the lowest its been in 4 decades, but you never know about these crazy Californian gangsters!

Ava managed to muster up some more energy from all the excitment and channeled it toward some serious shopping as she busily flipped through clothes on the rack

She must have seen me do that a few hundred times- Bill and I laughed so hard!

Born in Utah, Raised in California?

After the run on Saturday, Ava and I hopped a plane to California (again) to come see Bill. We'll be staying up in Brookside where we come a couple times a year.
Its a good thing the seat next to me was empty because Ava is now a CLIMBER! She climbs up everything from slides, strollers, her pack n' play, coffee tables, and anything low enough to get her first foot up

She got on the table by using the couch!
We decided to join the majority population here and celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Mexicans sure know how to throw a party!

Chasing Cookies

Yesterday morning we tied our running shoes tight, filled our water bottles full, and had our sights set on 2 fast little cookies This little race was a fund raiser for the Girl Scouts (hence the cookies) and it was a blast. And we really did chase Mr. Thin Mint and Mrs. Do-Si-Do!
Those are the 2 FAST cookies above.... we wish they would have run in their costumes!
A special thanks to Summer for showing us some great stretches after while we munched on cookies!

To be or not to be....Spring

Since the weather is like a Yo Yo, we've been trying to get out on the days its warm. We'll miss the snow and wearing our fleeces, but Ava LOVES being outside so its a fair trade!

"Clean up on isle 4"

You've all seen these.....
You grab a normal cart and try to pretend you don't see them....
You walk past them quickly so your children won't notice....But today.....since i've got plenty of time on my hands and the grocery store is about the funnest place to shop here.....I said to myself, "why not?!?"
Sure, I bumped into every item on the corner shelves,
and sure I felt like I was driving a semi-truck,
but my sweet pea giggled and screamed the whole ride as she waved at every passer by!

Sit Ava, Sit....Good Ava

One of the things on my "Prevent-boredom To Do List" here in Elko was to make Ava her own little doggie bed.....Ok let me explain:
She LOVES Maverick's bed and always wants to read her books on it, eat her snacks on it, and even nap on it! I can't handle any more dog hair,
So I went to Costco to find another one just for Ava, but since none were to be found I just made her own

She LOVES this one too, but absolutely No sharing this one with Mav-Dog!

Our little Boo Boo Shmoobs is 14

Happy Birthday to my little brother Matt!

50 Golden Years and counting

Last Saturday night we celebrated my darling grandparents 50th wedding Anniversary!
In case you're wondering what Bill and I are wearing, those are a traditional Filipino dress and barong.... pretty snazzy!
All the grandkids (minus Tanner who's on a mission in Norway)
The grand final was all of us doing our best to sing like Neil Diamond.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as we sang "Coming to America"

I must say that I have such incredible grandparents who are perfect examples of hard work, loyalty, patriotism, and love. Congratulations Lolo & Lola Baldazo.... Mahalkita!

...from Nor Cal to So Cal...

Ava and mommy took a girls trip to Orange County with my parents for Spring Break last weekend

We spent quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Bourne shopping, eating treats and hanging at the beach

We missed daddy though...he was working of course
Uncle Joe carried her everywhere
And Uncle Matt kept her entertained
And Ava could not get enough of the beach, it was impossible to get her to look up for a photo

We celebrated her 1st birthday on March 21st!!

(check out those Birthday glasses that she insisted on wearing)

We made it home just in time for Easter Sunday

The Fox cousins looked darling in their Easter clothes

Ava loved the egg hunt, except everytime she found an egg she cracked it open to eat the candy right away...needless to say, her basket stayed empty :) But really can you blame her, Easter by far has the best candy of any holiday

Check out what Cara made! Absolutely divine, beautiful, and delicious!
PS she sells them if anyone's interested
HAPPY EASTER! welcome spring!

Elmo's gone Irish...

Ava had a St. Patrick's Day Birthday yesterday!
Since we will be in Laguna Beach for her birthday we decided to have her 1st birthday party before with all her friends and family

She was a little leary about the green frosting but soon found it tasted pretty sweet

Mom and Dad had fun....seriously these parties are for the parents because come on'.... like she'll remember a thing!
Elmo was a big hit and his chocolate face was quickly devoured

The kids went fishing and played a bean bag toss...Ava got lots of presents (more than a 1 year old needs) and we filled our tummies with pizza

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY AVA and thank you to all our friends and family!

Tree Huggers

We found ourselved totally captivated and in awe at the Redwood Forest north of San Francisco this weekend. One of the most beautiful places we've ever seen....

These Redwood Trees can grow up to 379 ft. and can be over 2,000 years old. They are the tallest living things found on the planet

(here's a tree panorama for ya)

You can barely see the top of the trees, my camera was literally pointing toward the sky to get the top picture

One day we want to make it up to Kings Canyon to see the Sequoias that are so large you can drive your car through one of them

Look how tiny the people are to the right (and again thats only a third of the tree you see)!

BREATHTAKING, we could have stayed there all day!

Where is my candy cane?

Santa's lap wasn't so bad.......who is this Easter Bunny? Why is my mom making me sit here?! HELP ME!

San Francisco Zoo Day

It was a warm sunny day perfect for the zoo!
Ava loved watching the turtles swim, they were actually fast little movers
However, you can tell she's a little nervous about riding one! (don't worry its fake)A new baby girafee was born on Feb 25th.....he was sooooo darling!
We even got to hold some of the animals!!!!

Despite all the "Shhh" signs posted everywhere, Ava still felt the need to squeal her extremely high ear piercing scream at every animal.
The gorillas were so confused by the high pitched noise that they all went for the nearest exit!
The flamingos didn't mind the noise....probably because they went deaf after the first oneNeedless to say she loved every minute
We even had time to stop by Ocean Beach to dip our toes in the water and watch the body surfers.
Let's do it again tomorrow!

Filipino Family in Cali

That cute little Filipina sitting down is my Grandpa Baldazo's sister who is 85 years old, to her left is my grandpa's baby brother! Everybody else is a cousin to my mom...who all came to the USA from the Philippines over 30 years ago. Ava and I had a nice time visiting my second cousins who all live in the Bay Area
All the Baldazo family 2nd and 3rd cousins- MAHALKITA!

Down by the Bay!

Here we are in Concord California just enjoying some Pirate's Booty cheese puffs, Jamba Juice and a very sunny 68 degrees! Ava just got her first pair of Teva flip flops today and can't figure out why she has to have that fabric between her toes.... so funny!

She loved walking around the water fountain but was periodically distracted by these weird shoes....

She finally stopped trying to take them off and LOVED (to say the least) walking back and forth with the stroller. Still a little wobbily but just too cute for words!

video

We took a little trip down to see Daddy in action at work....what a handsome devil in that hard hat and stunning blue jumper!
The San Francisco Refinery is set in the bay right by the water

And even the drive getting there is so beautiful with rolling greens hills, we don't mind staying here for a couple weeks!

Ava and Lincoln were the only babies who got to come!

The whole crewOur hotel was incredible
View from our floor of the hotel

Quality time on the beach

Lots of eating sand....YUMMY!

One night we saw the famous cliff divers who jumped 100's of feet into these narrow rocky ocean coves....jaw dropping... these guys are crazy!

Ava loved the water park slides and the lazy river

Horse back riding and 4-wheeling on the beach

Bump, Set, Spike....(ok the spiking was left to Jill)
A little soccer

Mostly watching and waiting for the Mexican teams to lose so they could get a turn :)

Back in Cali = Empathy for Kramer

Well we came back to California for another work trip this last week.

But wait, it gets better.......Remember

"Kenny Rogers Roasters" from Seinfeld?!?

We are experiencing the annoying red glare shinning into our room from the window first hand!!!!!

This could be worse because the Red Light is a SPINNING ride in a ghetto amusement park!
(the pics make it look small but seriously this is right in your EYE and lights up the whole room)

Gotta love Victorville, CALIFORNIA

We made it home for Christmas! (...barely)

Christmas went by in a blur! It was so fun with all the cousins and family in town!
Grandpa Noli surrounded by almost all the "mugunda's" after our traditional yummy breakfast at Bourne's! Candy Cane Billy and Ava were worn out before noon!
All the baby cousins in their cute matching PJ's ( this picture was nearly impossible to take)
Christmas Eve at Foxes was wonderful...
Ava had no shame diving into everyone's presents and ripping open the paper
Kate loved her new baking attire...very fitting for a cookie lover
Isaac couldn't get enough of "Jingle Bells" on the piano and loved playing it all night

Santa was good to us this year! We have been so blessed
If you think you recognize this santa...you're right....its good old Tom Fox...SHHHH!
Ava looks like she's figuring it out!!!!

Ava's early present

So while we were at the store the other day, she grabbed this little bell wreath ornament off the rack and was shaking it the whole time I was shopping....it came time to leave and she wouldn't let go with out a fight and (dare I say) tantrum! A very kind lady behind the counter saw my dilemia and secretly rang me up ahead of the long line

Well, I guess that stops the hunt for Ava's
"First Christmas" ornament...she picked her own and so fitting because she loves a rattle or morraca any time of the day!
Luckily she would rather play with her ornament because I think our poor little tree would fall over with it on there! Its pretty cute, and we just keep it lit all day hoping we'll make it home to our big one soon.

Homesick

We really miss being at home before Christmas.... miss our Christmas tree lit up every night, miss lights and shopping downtown, miss SNOW, and especially our families.

However....Christmas will always be Christmas no matter where we are so we better enjoy it the best we can in the desert!
Sadly, no radio stations will play more than 2 Christmas songs in a row (pathetic)!

So happy to have the December Ensign with me to boost my spirits and read all the great Christmas messages!

I love this man....

"Giving of self; giving of substance, giving of heart and mind and strength in assisting those in need....are the very essence of the true spirit of Christmas" -Gordon B. Hinckley

In the meantime while Ava and I are starving for social interaction.....she found a new bestfriend.......HERSELF! They can play with each for a solid hour!! So funny

Home Sweet Hilton...

One minute I was finding a babysitter for Friday night and the next I was packing for another trip to Cali. This time we are in Victorville...if you've never been here we suggest never coming

Our hotel is nice and we get to eat a great breakfast every morning with roomservice daily, a nice suite to sleep in, and a 48" plasma flat screen.
Its definately a lifestyle easy to get used to BUT,

DONT LET THIS LUXURY TALK FOOL YOU.......
WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGH DESERT!!!!!!

Thankfully, I get to play with this cute little face all day while Bill is working
and I love the time with no distractions

Since we won't be home until a few days before Christmas I thought I'd better do my best to bring a little Christmas cheer to our room.
(I tried to make a tree out of these but they just work best in my mouth!)

Even Ava thinks this town in the desert is pretty boring!
p.s. 7 days til Christmas Eve!!!!!

Christmas Spirit

What is it about a Christmas Tree that makes you feel all warm inside?! Ours goes up the morning after Thanksgiving and I love coming home to see it all lit up!

LOVE a Christmas tree because it symbolizes so much about this wonderful season and all that we celebrate this time of year

To add to our Christmas Spirit we decorated Gingerbread houses at my grandma's with the family and had so much fun (and full bellies)

No shocker when cousin Kate ate more candy than anyone....she has the biggest sweet tooth just like her mom (she loves brownies for breakfast!)

MORE CANDY PLEASE!

Santa's Lap...

We thought we might see a few tears, but she was darling!

WONDERLAND

There is something almost magical about freshly fallen snow.... I've got butterflies in my stomach everytime I look outside!
TIME TO HIT THE SLOPES!!!!!

So much to be grateful for....

Thanksgiving is so easy to love because not only does it kick off Christmas but it brings a grateful heart and a full tummy!
We feel blessed to have such wonderful Baldazo grandparents that truly live their lives for our happiness. Coming from the Philippines to America, teaching the importance of education, and approving of my mom's baptism into the gospel
All 11 grandkids, Tanner on a mission in Norway, 2 son-in-laws and 2 great-grandbabies!
She was munching on food ALL DAY

We made our way to the Bourne's that evening, but way too busy eating to take pictures! Thanks grandma Cynthia!

Birthday for Bill.....Big day for Baby!

Somebody turned 31 yesterday!! Yup thats 31 candles....count em'! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY!!!
You are a one of a kind sweetheart and we love you so much!

While we were celebrating birthday fun.... in the mean time someone learned how to hold her bottle all by herself yesterday (thank heavens!)

On top of that, she is now able to move FORWARD!

Not sure if we'd call it "crawling" just yet but we love to watch her just rock, take a few crawls forward, then plop on her belly again!

As you can see....by day 3 we'd given up keeping her on the "pink blankie"
and off the hotel floor. Who cares anymore?!

Living at our Hotel

Brookside, California....not too bad!

Across the street from the Marriott is this awesome lake with gorgeous homes surrounding it
75 degrees feels just perfect
Fall leaves almost make us feel at home, some of them are
HUGE (as you can see!)

After the usual morning routine of messy rice cereal and veges, we load up to take a little jog through the Country Club area. If you thought that leaf (above) was big you should see some of these homes!

Check out the TRIPLE WIDE sidewalks! Its like this on BOTH sides.... genious

We take a break at the marina a couple miles away and watch the local fisherman.
Not a bad way to spend the first part of our day!

Another adventure begins... We'll keep you "posted" ha ha
WARNING: these posts might be more frequent due to the long days stuck on hotel premises and the only form of transportation being my 2 legs!

Oh Happy Day!

Guess what opens up in Utah today at 5:00 pm?!?!?!?!?!
Need we say more.......

A week full of HALLOWEEN FUN

So many fun parties and scary food this week as we hopped from one Halloween party to the next!
Grandma Gemini has a party every Halloween night, they don't get lots of trick or treaters down the lane so we get to stock up :)
Cousin Ike was Thomas the Train ..... so cute yet so hard to get a pic.
Hey Bob Fox, where's your costume?

Cousin Kate was a busy little bee, actually last night she was an ANGRY hornet!
(Ike, Kate, and Ava are all getting over the stomach flu)

We decorated sugar cookies at our play date this week,
the one missing on the plate.... so yummy!

Sooooo messy with kids! What isn't messy with kids?

Our Neighborhood's Party was hilarious! (as usual) Bill flew in from Cali that night at 8, hence his creative costume wearing that piggy nose

Dinner down in the Fletcher's dark, scary, unfinshed basement was perfect

Ava's trying to figure out where Willy Wonka hides the chocolate

A pretty pathetic looking Donald Duck with either Hughy, Dewy or Louie

More Halloween treats

The awesome full moon was fitting for the occasion

The Young Women and Young Mens Halloween party was fun til' Ava met the Blue Man

These cute young women will soon babysitt that little chicky

My wonderful grandma Cynthia went all out on our family Halloween party! We all had a blast!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Crazy Bourne cousins!
PS. We love X-men! By far our favorite costumes of the seasonWhat'll we be next year?!

Miniature Green Thumb...

Sad day as we picked the remaining veges out of our garden
(minus the 2 big orange pumpkins-we bought those).
Still not sure why my pumpkins stayed green but they're pretty cute still
Here's the funny part....
YES, thats a watermelon we grew, and yes, its the same size as that apple!

No thats not a weed... its my largest cob of corn about 2 inches tall!

My miniature harvest is nothing compared to yours Grandpa Baldazo but, there's always next year :)

Thanks for inspiring the gardner in me grandpa!

I turned 7 months today!

We finally met Will Hadfield this weekend and got to see Jaxon Nugent for only our second time! Time went by fast and we wish we could have played longer, but I loved my 2 cutest new friends.

Jaxon and Bekah just moved from Chicago to Arizona and Jax was born on Feb. 4th

Cute Katie and Will live in Newport Beach, CA and Will was born just 10 days before me on March 11th

Can't wait to see you again during the Holidays!

Crazy Hair Day.....

Check out cousin Kate's morning hair-do! She should have followed Isaac's example and put on a hoody to cover up her head

She must be a wild sleeper.... sooooo funny!

Too young for boys?

Well, since almost every kid in any of our playdates is a boy I thought I'd do a little shout out to you fellas who make me laugh!

This is the Drake Dragon giving me a loving sqeeze! He's super cute and could run by 11 months! Maybe he could teach me a thing or two
Here I am with Easton who I have a lot in common with... we both love super soft blankies and like to roll around to get places. We like to scream when we are happy so maybe I should marry him......?
This is Lincoln! We are only 8 days apart and love to smile at each other. We have the same crib, stroller, car seat, and toys. Our moms were prego together from the start and they obviously shop together too!
OK, OK, OK, I know he seems a little old for me but this is Jarman Lyle!
The All-American male...who can resist :)

Actually here is my favorite guy of all- My DADDY! I love driving his big truck all by myself and I even play Halo with him too! He's the cutest to me and we got lots of love

Can't wait to someday meet Will Hadfield and Jaxon Nugent who are my age too! We'll have so much to catch up on boys... hugs!

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Attack of the Ducks!

Wheeler Farm today sounds funny, but actually it was pretty scarey! We went to feed the geese and ducks and within 3 seconds we were surrounded by 70+ stinky snapping geese that obviously knew the drill!Jill trying to escape after one munched on her hand while taking the bread...
I don't know if Ava or the goose had more fun staring at each other
What up turkey!? We're gonna eat you ugly thing next month
By the way, Ava thinks she can walk already because she won't sit in the stroller or even on the ground anymore.... how bout crawling first babe?

Sunday, September 30, 2007

Too much fun in Italia!

There we are...The entire Bourne crew loving life in Tuscany...I just turned 4 months in Italy!
We had so much fun seeing new places like: Pisa, Florence, Siena, Carrara, Viareggio, Cinque Terre, and all over Lucca...my mommy didn't want to come home!

The best part was the never ending GELATO Italian ice cream!

One at a time Grandpa Hal!!!

We walked up the "Leaning Tower of Pisa"
We all hiked the Cinque Terre and even little Ava swam in the Mediteranean Sea!

My daddy loved driving this Mazarati 140 mph!

Welcome to our family!

That's me...Ava Mila Fox, born on March 21, 2007 and named after my
great-grandma Mila Baldazo!
My daddy is an engineer who travels a lot managing industrial construction projects, mom and I get to travel with him all over. Since we travel so much I thought this blog would be a good way to keep you updated on all the places we get to go

When I was only 1 month old we flew to California where we stayed for an entire month!

I didn't leave the hotel much, but look at my cute Portuguese outfit!

"Make Love
Don't Make War
Look at the Result"
(my mom loves Brazil, thanks Sister Ellis Bott)

When I was 2 months we flew to Arizona where we stayed for another 2 weeks. My favorite thing to do there was chew my fingers....I can fit all 5 of them in my mouth!

Every time we go somewhere I miss my family so much...especially my great-grandparents~
